The Teacher and 3 Students

teacher and 3 students

3 friends, Richard, Alex, and Michael engage in a friendly & comical discussion with the teacher.

Teacher: Everyone! Today we will learn about phrases of different kinds. Are you all ready?

Students: Yes ma’am

Teacher: Tell me, what is the meaning of ‘under the carpet’?

Richard (raising his hand and answering): Lots of dust!

Teacher: Very funny! Stand up!

Richard: Why ma’am?

Teacher: Because I want the right answer

Richard: Can I?

Teacher: Yes

Richard: Well, I would rather forget about the problematic question at all!

Teacher: Nicely said. (Turning towards the class) Now, who will tell me the meaning of ‘tailored to suit requirements’?

George: The bridegroom should look nice on his special day! Shouldn’t he?

Teacher: It seems you like to be in his shoes?

George: No ma’am! I know they’re too big for me!

Teacher: Smarty pants! Sit down. Now class, what does ‘ruler’ mean?

David: Someone who doesn’t spoil the broth!

Teacher: Of course! Last question everyone! What does the phrase ‘finders’ keepers’ mean?

Richard, George, and David raise their hands….

Teacher (thinking of another witty answer): Yes, George, you can tell!

George: Are you referring to the goalkeeper?

Teacher: Yes, the one that will spank you once you find the lost object! What’s the answer?

George: I don’t have an answer. How come anyone would say a thing after finding something?

Richard: Nice one!

Teacher: Keep quiet! It means that the one who finds the object is its owner!

Richard, George, and David: Ma’am! We just found a ring while entering the class. It’s a diamond ring!

Teacher (upon realizing it’s hers): Let me see….. Class over! Thank You!
